202 Days Until The Disney Princess Half Marathon
Well, I've been on "hiatus" trying to recover from my multitude of injuries but today marks the first day of my new training plan. My toe still hurts quite a lot from my tumble down the stairs (because of course I did), but I'm hoping to be able to deal with the pain for my 29:30 minute walk and 30 second run tonight after work.
My back is not at 100%, it definitely starts hurting after I've walked for a while. We went to the State Fair on Saturday and walked about four and a half miles. Toward the end of the day I could barely stand. It's discouraging knowing that in a few months I'm planning to do 13.1 miles followed by a day at the parks. I am hoping that I have enough time to get "in shape" for that.
Tonight will be challenging. I am pretty confident it's going to hurt, my lungs will burn with just a walk because I haven't done much of anything since before the 4th of July. I am determined though.
I also started tracking with Weight Watchers today. I have already pre-tracked my food for the day, successfully avoided freshly baked peanut butter cookies in the kitchen at work, didn't have any soda with lunch, and I'm not terribly hungry this afternoon (though I do have a scheduled afternoon snack).
I guess that's really all I have for right now. I'll blog again later in the week and let you know how this first week is going.
